Helping People with Cancer find Financial Support

Macmillan have launched an emergency appeal to raise awareness of the dire financial situation faced by tens of thousands of people with cancer. The hidden costs associated with a cancer diagnosis, compounded by the ongoing cost of living crisis are forcing many patients to resort to drastic measures to make ends meet.

Around a third of people having cancer treatment who are struggling in the cost of living crisis are being forced to cut back on basic hygiene or cleaning essentials. Some are neglecting their nutrition, warmth and hygiene and taking further measures such as skipping meals or missing hospital appointments. This could have serious implications for people’s health and potentially impact their chances of survival.

Our website has been updated with more information about how Macmillan can help so you can share it with the people you support.
