As per 1st focus group held on 6th September, please comment/provide feedback/make suggestions on how we best approach patients and ask them about their Cancer Diagnosis Experience.

    #13238

Having had cancer in the past and more recently the way I was told of my diagnosis and the way I would have liked to have been informed were very different.

Some questions that may be of help:

Did you have enough time with your health care provider when told of your diagnosis?
Did your health care professional explain your diagnosis and treatments clearly e.g. side effects/timings of treatment etc?
Were all of your questions answered?
Were you given your diagnosis in a timely manner?
Were you involved in decisions about our care plan?

As with all of the themes it is important when approaching a patient for thier views to treat them with respect for the cancer journey that they are/have gone through.
