This section of the Cancer Academy provides guidance and resources to support decision-making and referrals for suspected cancers. All suspected cancer referrals follow NICE NG12 guidelines, unless otherwise specified, with tumour types organised accordingly.
Gateway C is recommended as a key learning resource for most tumour areas, except for Lower GI/Colorectal, where the Cheshire & Merseyside Pathway is used. This pathway applies to all adults (18+) and includes consideration of IDA.
Guidance on clinical decision support, safety netting, optimising referrals, and access to referral forms can be found in the Referral Quality section. Additional tumour-specific learning resources for GP registrars are available in the PrOCEDE section.
Please note: All external resources are recommended in good faith. The Cancer Academy and Cancer Alliance cannot accept responsibility for any outdated or inaccurate content.
