PrOCEDE is designed as an evolving programme, with regular updates and new content planned as the cancer education landscape continues to change.
PrOCEDE is here to make early cancer diagnosis education simpler, smarter, and more accessible—supporting the professionals who make a difference every day.
Who's it for?
Designed for Resident Doctors, their Educators, GPs, and Primary Care clinicians, PrOCEDE provides fast access to trusted cancer education that matters most.
Why does it matter?
Developed over the past two years, PrOCEDE was born from an initial scoping exercise that explored Resident Doctors’ learning needs and gaps in knowledge around early cancer diagnosis—a consistently challenging yet crucial area of clinical practice, especially as NHS England has set a target of 75% of cancers to be diagnosed at an early stage (1 or 2) by 2028.
PrOCEDE helps busy clinicians access reliable, accredited cancer education quickly, removing the time-consuming burden of searching for high-quality learning materials.
By curating trusted resources and developing new content where gaps exist, it provides a comprehensive, practical learning option.
Following a successful pilot with GP Specialist Registrars, PrOCEDE is now live on the CMCA Cancer Academy website.
The programme brings together a range of educational components, including:
- Curated signposting to vetted cancer education resources tailored for time-pressured clinicians.
- Tumour site–specific cancer education to support deeper clinical understanding.
- Broader cancer-related topics, including cancer screening and personalised care, and access to local cancer data via the CMCA PRACTICE dashboard.
- Newly developed e-learning modules in areas where suitable resources were previously unavailable.
- Dedicated educator support, offering quality improvement ideas, leadership resources, and teaching packs complete with case studies, role-play scenarios, and ready-made PowerPoint presentations
Early feedback from the pilot has been highly positive, with clinicians and educators welcoming this streamlined, high-quality approach to cancer education.
