Current information includes data on:
- Demograhics
- Cancer prevalence
- Cancer screening
Future planned phases will include:
- Cancer staging
- Cancer wait times (28-day faster diagnosis standard, 31-day decision to treat standard and 62-day referral to treatment standard).
- E-Referrals and “2 week wait” data (although this is no longer a mandatory measure, it is still recorded locally by Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Alliance).
Cancer Data for the Cheshire and Merseyside patient population is provided at practice, PCN, and Place level.
Data reports can be filtered by subsets according to:
- Ethnicity
- Age
- Gender
- Deprivation
- Learning Disability
- Severe Mental Illness.
Future planned filters will include:
- People experiencing homelessness
- Refugees and asylum seekers
- Those with English as a second language
It is updated monthly by the Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance and provides the most up to date and accurate cancer data for the locality.
The available cancer data can be used:
- To inform local practices of their current and up to data cancer data.
- Compare data with other local areas and practices for learning and improvement at practice and the wider local level.
- Consolidate and/or improve cancer performance at practice and the wider local level.
- Develop Quality Improvement Projects for the benefit of Practice populations, and individual’s learning needs (training professionals and for appraisal).
- Support implementation of the PCN Cancer DES (Direct Enhanced Service).
